LAST DAY! [December 17,2010]
December 17,2010. It's a short period today, which meant it was only a 35 minute class. Still, I'm so psyched for the winter holidays. I'm totally gonna sleep in and get 'well rested' for the coming two weeks! Happy holidays people! 8D

SECOND LAST DAY BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS [December 16,2010]
December 16,2010. Today, we continued to work on our bouncing ball and window tracer program. Go us! :D
Just one more day before the holidays! I'm excited! 8D

Bouncin' Balls off the Wall! [December 15,2010]
December 15,2010. Today in ICS, we continued working on the bouncing ball thing, since no one got it. I made progress (figured out how it works essentially :D), so I'm satisfied.
Homework is to work on daily blog and make progress on the bouncing ball thing. <33
Two more days until the break! I'm totally gonna sleep in! Christmas! ;D

Bouncin' off the walls! [December 14,2010]
December 14,2010. Today, we got our tests back. Wow, it still amazes me how fast Mr. Arkin marks these things. But first, we took up/wrote model answers for all the questions. Of course, I wrote in awesome, slow cursive, that is (not pointing it out or anything). After that, Mr. Arkin let us copy his model answer. And then he handed our tests back. And oh my god. I can't believe I got perfect. Anyways, I'm not gonna gloat or boast or rub it in yo' faces (nooo, nothing like that).
Mr. Arkin went on to show us these cool bouncing program fragments and now, we have to recreate the code. So that's our homework, along with thy daily blog posting.

Surprise, surprise! Test 2 comes rolling along! [December 13,2010]
December 13,2010. Today, we had our second test! When Mr. Arkin had said 'sometime next week,' I did not think it could be Monday. It was completely out of the question. But, walking into class today, I guess it wasn't that out of the question. I didn't study at all over the weekend to be honest (completely honest here), so I was pretty much screwed on the test.
But actually, it was quite easy. The questions were very straightforward and just asked things we learned ages ago. The only thing I had a bit of trouble on was the index part of the substring. Remember the whole did-not-study thing? Yeah. I had to guess what it meant, but am pretty sure I got it right (conceited right?) :D
After the test, we had 15 minutes left, in which Mr. Arkin showed us a new part of Turing. Graphics! We can now draw our own shapes and lines and all that fun stuff! Joy. :9
Anyways, homework is to post daily blog and to explore graphics.

LAST CHANCE TO BECOME A 4! [December 10,2010]
December 10,2010. Today was our last period to work in our peer tutoring groups and get everyone up to a '4' on the understanding of Turing in preparation for the test next week. Today, our group worked on functions and for loops, even using the computer to emphasize and test out some of the programs we wrote up. I think we're pretty close to our goal! Let's keep on working hard!
For homework, we were to study for the test sometime next week and our daily blog. Yay for weekend! 8D

Peer Tutoring Groups! [December 9,2010]
December 9,2010. Today, we continued to work towards our level '4', in our peer tutoring groups. We continued to go through our notes, even demonstrating on the computer what some of the different features of Turing to our group mate. Homework is to post daily blog.

One, two, three! [December 8,2010]
December 8,2010. Today in class, Mr. Arkin introduced to us how to create our own procedures! We learned the keywords procedure and how to give the procedure permission to overwrite/re-store a value into variables. We also learned to differentiate between functions and procedures, which is super important now that we can write our own. Again, we practiced as a class for a bit before Mr. Arkin had us all assess our programming knowledge. He then put us/let us choose our groups accordingly so that each group had a good balance of knowledge. Our task for the next few days were to bring everyone in our groups up to a level '4' in Turing programming. We started going through our notes.
For homework, we were to continue bringing ourselves up to level '4' and our daily blog. Check and check.

HAHA. The day has come! [December 7,2010]
December 7,2010. Today! Today is the day that Last Sacrifice is finally out! Do you know how long I've been waiting for this? Well, a very long time! HARHAR. :D I saw it in the store and I spoiled myself rotten by reading the ending. The ending was really bad [not to say the book itself was bad. Just who the main char. ends up with], so I ended up writing my english essay on heartbreaks and rejection. D:
Anyways. Today in ICS, Mr. Arkin introduced us to a new function, our very own user-defined function! We learned new keywords function and result. Basically, it performs a defined task that returns a value and is legal to use anywhere that value of the specified datatype can be used. YAY! 8D We wrote a few simple functions to practice, and then for homework (by the way, Mr. Arkin did a homework check), we were to write a function for nextConsonant, which is supposed to return the next consonant for Substring 9.5 (my own little name). Daily blog posting is also done now!

For. . . Justice? The world? No! For Loops! [December 6,2010]
December 6,2010. Welcome back, Mr. Arkin! After a week of being away, we had lots to do in class today. Since it was a short day (dismissed at 12), we only had 45 minutes to cram a lot of info into our brains. As soon as we entered, Mr. Arkin had something on the board/screen and we copied that down. It was about counted loops, which was loops that were executed a specific amount of times. We learned about the new keywords, for and decreasing.
Afterwards, we took up the substrings assignments, with Mr. Arkin showing us his simple model answers.
For homework tonight, we were to modify Assignment 9 so that instead of changing vowels, it would exchange each consonant with the one afterwards.

Guest Teacher Part 5 [December 3,2010]
December 3,2010. Today, we continued working on our substrings assignments. Mr. Arkin sent another email (dun dun dunnn~) that said we had to finish our substrings assignments and have them printed our and stored in our binder on Monday. That'll keep me busy for the weekend. Hehehe. 8)

Guest Teacher Part 4 [December 2,2010]
December 2,2010. Heelloo! Today, we continued to work on our substrings assignments. Also, Mr. Arkin sent us another email, stating that he'll be away tomorrow, which means no quiz tomorrow! Hurray!
For homework, I plan on completing the substrings assignments and posting of thy daily blog. So yuup.

Guest Teacher Part 3 [December 1,2010]
December 1,2010. Oh My God! YAY! It's December! Just two more weeks until the winter holidays and 25 days before Christmas. But better than Christmas, there's only 6 days left until the release of Last Sacrifice. Okay, anyways, that little rant ^ is probably longer than my actual post, which is currently non-existent. That's okay though, because today in class, we just continued to work on our substrings assignments. They got harder, but I feel that I can finish.
For homework, it's the daily blog and continue to work on assignments. Oh and, we just found out there was going to be a substrings quiz on Friday, when Mr. Arkin gets back. Totally unfair, but hey, that's life right? D:
